How Do Our Projects Generate Resources for DeSci?

We often find that science is in the hands of the masses. Thousands of dollars may have to be paid for providing data for a study. When an experiment is carried out, we can see that the reference source gives values like 6 and 7. However, there are many numbers between 6 and 7 (6.01–6.02…). Thus, a scientific study is limited to a single person who performs it. This is one of the only factors that prevents a scientific study from being reproducible.

At this point, DeSci (Decentralized Science) enters our lives, the foundations of which are gradually being laid.

DeSci uses blockchain technology to share scientific knowledge in a fair and equitable way;

It is a movement that aims to build the public infrastructure to

-Finance,

-Store and

-Publish.

DeSci primarily focuses on two important actions. The first is the measures taken by the scientific community to improve the research funding process and facilitate unrestricted information and knowledge sharing. The second is the crypto movement to reclaim ownership from centralized entities and profit-only intermediaries..

As MFET, we have built our projects on providing benefits in the field of DeSci. With “Balance”, the first of these projects, we can measure the carbon footprint of individuals. With the questions we ask ranging from individuals’ consumption habits to their transportation preferences, we get data about carbon emissions from the primary source (with the individuals’ own consent).

This data gives us the carbon footprint data of a person living in Istanbul and a person living in Amsterdam. We plan to store this data in a blockchain with a very low carbon footprint.

With this data, we will be able to compare the carbon data of people across countries and even continents. We will allow universities to use this very serious and important data for their scientific studies.

It is also necessary to measure and monitor the impact on the seas and oceans of the pollution caused by the release of soil carbon load into the atmosphere.

In another project called “Fokai”, MFET measures the scientific data of the sea surface and coasts, including pH (Potential Hydrogen), T (°C) (Temperature), DO (Dissolved Oxygen), EC (Conductivity), ACM (Suspended Solids), TOC (Total Organic Carbon), DOC (Dissolved Organic Carbon), COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand), BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), NH4 (Ammonium), NH3 (Ammonia) values and stores these values on a blockchain with a very low carbon footprint.

Our stakeholders in this project, which is still in the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) phase, are Turkey’s leading underwater and surface research companies, non-governmental organizations and local administrations.

With the Fokai Project, where we will create a huge scientific database, we will be able to see the effect of the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere on the seas in the light of long-term and continuously collected data.

Our university collaborations will ensure that this data is transformed into important products to be used in scientific projects.

With our projects based on ReFi and DeFi, we are creating a reliable source for DeSci. Thus, we take science out of the monopoly of a single person, group or any organization and make it accessible to the public. The easy access of science to the masses leads to a wide variety of products.
